10 pictures from Venice, CA
posted August 10th, 2010 by EverywhereistWhile Rand was once again showing off his public speaking skills (and meting out crazy doses of charm) I decided to roam around the city a bit. The only problem? Everything in L.A. is miles from everything else, nothing is within walking distance, and I didn’t feel like driving. Los Angeles is a terribly walking city, but we were fortunately rather close to Venice Beach, which made for a semi-interesting walk.
1. Surf/Swim sign
I wanted to walk up to it and scream, "Don't tell me what to do!" But I wasn't with anyone I could embarrass.

2. Carved Heart on the Venice Pier
And unlike the rest of the pier, mercifully free of seagull poop.

Actually, that's cement. Idiots.

4. “Welcome to the Beach” sign
Give a hoot kids. Don't cover stuff in stupid stickers.

5. Meepos & Company, Inc. facade (I suspect I am the only person who would find this funny.)
Dude, cousin Balki has totally moved up in the world.

They say nothing about falling off drunkenly. LOOPHOOOOOLE!

I assume this was painted by the colorblind. Or possibly Italians.

In Washington, we call this "a drainage ditch."

That is funny (the whole Meepos thing). I loved that show when I was a kid. I have never wanted to visit Venice Beach, having grown up in San Diego, but I think I just might after seeing these photos.
