  1. View from our hotel. The black schmutz is a result of crap on the window.

  2. Some of the wild dogs of Sofia, sleeping in the park.

We let them lie. (SEE WHAT I DID THERE?)

  3. Angel of commerce, downtown Sofia.

What? Not ALL the relics of Communism are eyesores. SHEESH. Capitalist jerks.

  4. Wrought-iron gate at the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral.

Not only is it pretty – it keeps the packs of wild dogs out, which is nice.

  5. Rand gets contemplative (near the Russian church).

Mostly, we were contemplating why it was so damn cold.

  6. Public fountain near the NDK – the National Palace of Culture.

I’m too mature to make a comment about “Ginormous balls”. Oh, wait … No. No, I’m not.

  7. This is not a pipe.

    It’s actually several of them.

  8. Rusted gate near a church in downtown Sofia.

I’m not sure what this says, but I’m pretty sure it has something to do with The X-Men.

  9. Forbidden peanut. Look familiar? This guy last made an appearance in #7 of my somewhat naughty pics from London. It somehow went rogue, migrated to my purse, and traveled with me to Bulgaria. Where, maybe, JUST MAYBE (I’m so not admitting to anything) I thought about eating it BECAUSE HOW GREAT OF A STORY WOULD THAT BE? before Rand slapped it out of my hand. Maybe.

    I named it “Sarah.”

  10. Outside a church in downtown Sofia, with some dude.

I have another version of this photo where I’m flipping off the camera, but it seemed inappropriate, what with the church and all. (Translation: I thought I looked fat.)
