An update and a freak out.

I’ve been mentioning for a while that the new site design is set to go live very soon. Unfortunately, it’s proving to be a little bit more buggy that previously anticipated.

It should be cleared up in the next day or so. Until then, bear with me. I still plan to post daily (and yes, I realize I owe you a WTF Wednesday. It will be up later this afternoon and I promise it will be worth the wait), and the site shouldn’t have any downtime between now and the new design going up, but some of that is out of my hands. I can assure you that if it does go down, I am aware of it, and my awesome developers are doing their best to fix it.

In the meantime, you’ll notice a few things might look a bit strange (like, for some reason, comments are no longer embedding), or that the new design will be live one minute, and then the old design will be back up the next minute.

It’s odd. It’s a little crazy. It’s frustrating. But I promise, it’s merely temporary. (At least, the frustrating part is temporary. The things that are crazy and odd will continue to be so, because that’s the appeal of this site)

Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go have more cake. Because that is how I deal with stress. Hell, it’s how I deal with everything.

  • Dude, this post is totally fine for WTF Wednesday. Just say something crashed. Also, eat cake for my wife. Because apparently her husband is making too much pasta these days and the OB says not to.

  • Freak out, indeed.

My wife and I are developing our travel site and it is AMAZING how many “glitches” “bugs” and “errors” show up.

Then again, I have absolutely no idea how websites work. The only tool in my programming kit is a credit card. Which (usually) works 😉

Regardless, good luck and can’t wait to see the new design!

  • Went to visit Mandova today, where a rich nobleman built a palace for his mistress. This room was where he took guests before the orgies. This revelation caught me by surprise, but Rand noted that there wasn't a lot else for rich people to do in the 16th century. It was mostly food and orgies.

  • I will never get over the fact that hundreds of years ago my ancestors built a city on water, and it is still here. Next time I doubt myself, I need to remember that anything is possible if you are willing to get your feet wet.

  • My beloved surprised me with a trip to Bar Luce, a cafe designed by Wes Anderson in a far corner of Milan. I am still reeling from the perfection of the place, from the pinball machines that only accept lira to the chocolate buttons on a perfect piece of cake, bearing the cafe's name. #Milan #barluce #wesanderson
