If you're going to go the Free Whiskey route, drop the E unless you don't mind being outed as a tourist. Or... go with scotch. :)

OMG, this is hilarious...and frustrating...and true, all at once. There is nothing worse than having the bus blow by you when it's cold out and the next one isn't coming for half an hour. Especially when you're standing right there at the stop. But 2 in a row? That's really unlucky.

Interestingly enough, the only people who upset me were those two drivers. Every single other person I encountered, from shop owners to museum workers to children playing in the park, were downright lovely. Super friendly, and they all sound like Sean Connery. I am SO going back.

With or without an "I want it" shirt.

Just don't wear a shirt that says, "I really want it." Or do and see what the heck happens. I don't want to tell anyone how to take a vacation.

When I was in high school, a friend and I pretended we were English (or British, I don't remember that other post of yours) and we told some girls we were from Glasgow, England. They believed us. I'm still embarrassed by the whole episode, mostly because I didn't know where Glasgow really was.

I met so many terrific people in both Glasgow and Edinburgh, that I'm guessing maybe all the Dicks work for the tour bus companies, so they can dick with the tourists! I didn't know about the tour bus when I was there, but when I go back (and I'm sure I will) I'll have a t-shirt made especially for the trip, that says "YES! I want to get on the bus!".....and just let everyone else wonder about it.

You definitely should have made that a Dick Move! post. I had no idea the people in Scotland were so ruthless when it came to public transport.
