I am starting a new feature on the blog. I hope it will serve me manifold: that it will impart a little more structure into my oh-so-random-blog, and that it will give me an opportunity to share some of the strange and fleeting notions that enter my head.
The premise is simple: I take a random photo from one of my trips, and I add some text that reveals whatever nonsense is going on in my brain. Simple. Easy. Random. Like LOLcats, minus the cats. I did a test-run last week, and I liked the result.
I considered posting them on Thursdays, but I never could get the hang of Thursdays. So I decided on Tuesdays, instead. After all, don’t we all need a little reverie on a Tuesday? I know I do.
And so, enjoy a bit of Tuesday Reverie.

I suppose you want to know what all this nonsense is about. You’ve come to the right page...
Well timed. I needed this, as today is my Monday and while I enjoy the extra day of the weekend, it always serves to discombobulate me for the rest of the week. Thanks!

I’m totally with Penny on this one, perfect timing. I’m having a sad day and the giggles were very welcome. You took that photo in Chicago, right?

Lisa, I almost replied with, “What? NO, No I took in New York.” Then I got the joke. And I laughed a bunch.

Oh thank god, because if you *had* corrected me, my head would have exploded and made a really awful mess.
OK… THAT was funny.

There is a reason why yours is the only travel blog (uh, besides my own, I mean. Sorry, totally didn’t mean to spam the poop out of this comment, but there I went and did it anyway, by accident of course, but there it is anyway. Sigh.) that I truly enjoy, and that photo is exactly the reason why.
Okay, I have to go eat a cupcake. Bye!

Two related notes:
(1) My former sister-in-law saw a picture of me in front of Stonehenge and asked “Great picture! Where is that?” She 100% was serious. We spent a half hour trying to weasel the name out of her without actually telling her: “it was built by the Druids… there are large stones… it’s in a henge…”
(2) My husband’s family likes to play something they call the Tourist game while traveling: you walk up to a very famous landmark, and very loudly ask a series of terrible questions, including “Does someone live here?” “Can you go to the top?” “Does it spin?” It works like a charm, particularly in stuffy english-speaking locales like London.

This is going to be funny, you should watermark or at least provide your web address on the photos because they are bound to end up all over the internet.

This photo (with brilliant text) is precisely why I like you so much.
